JESS
Quiet everywhere but on stage, I obtained a BFA in Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2009. In 2016, I received an MEd in Education, which was performing on a daily basis! It’s led to my wanting to make nonfiction texts as accessible as possible for every listener in my performance. Spending over 3 years living in Northern Ireland was great craic, and only bolstered my love for accents and dialects.
I love stories about strong women, sweeping history or mythology, and those featuring awkward young people with gumption. I bring a grounded yet playful, and connected presence to every piece. When I’m not recording, you will find me in mud-caked boots, covered in flour, chasing my children, or dancing (poorly, but happily).

Independent Authors are some of my favorite folks to work with! I have an immense respect for the time and effort you put into your books, and getting them out into the world. If you’re interested in working with me, check out my the links below.
