[the extended version]
I am an old soul, full of spitfire and whimsy.
As a tale teller, I seek to reveal humanity in the moments deemed ordinary, sifting for magic in the stories beyond our own.
My father’s easy chair leaned sideways because of the hours I spent in it reading. In many ways I grew up there, wandering through the mythological lands of Odin, into the raucous attic of the March sisters, and within the castle walls cradling the madness of Ophelia.
A shy child everywhere else, I learned the stage could be a way to bring my favorite characters to life. I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre for Youth from Shenandoah Conservatory. Some of my fondest memories are those with my Shakespeare troupe in roles such as Feste, Hamlet, and Juliet.
After college, I indulged my love of travel by living in Northern Ireland. For three years, I facilitated drama workshops, taught Yoga, chatted with locals as I worked with an Optometrist, and picked up a fairly strong brogue (ask me about craic sometime). Most importantly, I learned the sacred ritual of pausing each morning and afternoon for a hot cup of tea – properly known as a “cuppa.”
When I returned to the States, I worked as a medical admin and respite care provider to local military families who had children with disabilities, all while pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education. As a teacher, the students and I lost ourselves on the read-aloud carpet in the worlds of Kate DiCamillo, Madeleine L’Engle, or R.J. Palacio.
Though I no longer have my dad’s easy chair, I do have a lopsided nook of the couch often filled with me, 3 wiggly kids, and teetering book stacks. As a parent in a neurodivergent family, I have the honor of journeying with my children while they carve their own paths of literary discovery. Audiobook narration allows me to take listeners on similar journeys. My compelling, eloquent, and soothing style leads me to be a perfect fit for fantasy, historical fiction, epic dramas, and memoirs. I delight in bringing a grounded, playful, and heartfelt presence to every piece.
When I’m not recording, you will find me in mud-caked boots on a trail, covered in streaks of flour, or perhaps both at once as I chase my roving children. I enjoy discovering new restaurants with my husband, deep conversations with friends in between sending gifs or memes, and writing my (somewhat regular) newsletter about seasonal rhythms and motherhood, The Meaningful Glow.
